Unlike consignment, you don't have to wait for your piece to sell. Once your item passes our evaluation and authentication and you accept our final offer, Luxurywish purchases the piece directly from you.
How Buyout Works
Submit Your Piece
Complete our Buyout Request and provide clear, recent photographs of your item. Please provide as much information as available, including:
- Brand and model
- Size, color, material and hardware
- Year, stamp, serial or date code, where applicable
- Current condition
- Original inclusions
- Where and when the item was purchased
- Proof of purchase, if available
- Existing authentication documents, if available
- Details of any previous repair, spa, restoration, recoloring or alteration
For pieces purchased from another reseller or seller, we may also request the original invoice, receipt, certificate of authenticity, authentication report, or other supporting documentation. Providing documentation does not automatically guarantee acceptance or authenticity — Luxurywish conducts its own evaluation.
Initial Market Evaluation
Our team will review your submission and determine whether the piece currently fits our buying requirements. We consider factors including:
- Brand
- Model
- Specifications
- Condition
- Age
- Rarity
- Current market value
- Market demand
- Resale potential
- Current inventory
If we're interested in the piece, we may provide an initial estimated buyout value or range. Any amount provided at this stage is preliminary and is not yet a final offer.
Submit the Physical Item
If you wish to proceed, the item must be submitted to Luxurywish for physical evaluation. You may arrange an approved courier or bring the item to our showroom by appointment. The item should be submitted together with all declared inclusions and available supporting documentation.
Ownership & Provenance Verification
For the protection of both Luxurywish and our clients, we may verify the item's ownership and purchase history before proceeding. For pieces acquired from another seller, reseller, boutique, auction house, marketplace, or private individual, we may request additional documentation showing how the item was acquired. Luxurywish may request:
- Valid identification
- Original or previous sales invoice
- Boutique receipt
- Reseller receipt
- Authentication certificate
- Payment record
- Previous ownership documentation
The absence of an original receipt does not automatically make an item ineligible, but additional verification may be required.
Physical Condition Inspection
Our team will physically inspect the piece and compare it with the information originally submitted. We will evaluate its overall condition, structure, leather or material, hardware, corners, handles, interior, odor, signs of wear, inclusions, and other relevant characteristics.
Any condition issue not visible or disclosed during the initial submission may affect the final valuation.
Authentication
Every piece must satisfy Luxurywish's authenticity requirements before a buyout can be completed. Depending on the brand and item, we may require verification through our trusted independent authentication specialists.
Authentication provided by another reseller or seller does not automatically replace Luxurywish's own authentication requirements. If additional authentication is necessary, processing time may vary depending on the item and authentication provider. If an item does not pass authentication or we are unable to establish authenticity to our satisfaction, Luxurywish will decline the buyout.
Final Market Valuation
Once the piece has passed our inspection and required verification, our team will determine its final buyout value. Our offer is based on the item's current secondary-market value and resale potential, taking into consideration its exact specifications, condition, inclusions, demand, rarity, and our current inventory. Buyout values are not based solely on:
- Original retail price
- Current boutique price
- Amount originally paid
- Another reseller's valuation
- Online asking prices
The amount another seller originally charged for an item does not determine the amount Luxurywish can offer for it today.
Receive Your Final Offer
Once evaluation is complete, we'll provide you with our final buyout offer. You are completely free to accept or decline.
If you decline, your piece remains yours and can be collected or returned according to the agreed arrangement, subject to any previously disclosed authentication, courier, insurance, or third-party charges.
Sell Directly to Luxurywish
If you accept our offer, we'll complete the necessary seller, ownership, and transaction documentation. By accepting, you confirm that:
- You are the lawful owner of the item
- You have the legal authority to sell it
- The information you provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- You have disclosed any known repairs, alterations, restoration, recoloring, replacement parts, or other material history of the piece
Get Paid
Once all requirements have been completed, Luxurywish will process payment through the agreed payment method. Upon completion of payment and transfer of ownership, the transaction becomes final and the piece becomes the property of Luxurywish.
Pieces Purchased From Other Sellers
Luxury pieces purchased from other resellers, boutiques, online platforms, auction houses, private sellers, or overseas sources are welcome for Buyout consideration. However, because these pieces were not originally sold by Luxurywish, they undergo our full evaluation and verification process.
Previous authentication, receipts, certificates, or guarantees from another seller may be considered as supporting documentation but do not constitute automatic approval by Luxurywish. Luxurywish reserves the right to conduct independent authentication and to decline any item where authenticity, ownership, provenance, condition, or resale suitability cannot be established to our satisfaction.
Buyout offers for pieces purchased elsewhere are determined based on current market evaluation and are not covered by The Luxurywish Buyback Privilege or its published buyback percentages.
Important Buyout Terms
Submission of a piece does not guarantee acceptance or an offer.
All preliminary quotations are subject to physical inspection and may be revised after evaluation.
Buyout pricing is determined by Luxurywish based on current market conditions and our assessment of the piece.
Luxurywish may decline any item at its discretion based on authenticity, ownership or provenance concerns, condition, specifications, marketability, demand, inventory levels, or other reasonable commercial considerations.
Items with undisclosed repairs, restoration, recoloring, alterations, replacement parts, damage, or significant condition discrepancies may receive a revised offer or be declined.
If an item is declined, return or collection arrangements will be coordinated with the client. Any applicable third-party authentication or shipping charges communicated and agreed upon beforehand may remain payable.
Once the final offer is accepted, payment is completed, and ownership is transferred to Luxurywish, the transaction is final and cannot be reversed.
